The Indian doctor who treated Mohammad Rizwan during his severe chest infection prior to the semi-finals has revealed that he is staggered by the recovery rate. Rizwan, who was hospitalized until Wednesday noon, had to go through severe chest pain, and he had been in ICU for two days ahead of the all-important semi-finals.
The doctor had diagnosed the infection, which had left Rizwan with intermittent fever, persistent cough, and chest tightness for 3-5 days, and one positive for the Pakistan side was the Covid result returning negative. However, Rizwan is an important member of the Pakistan batting unit, and he stepped up again for the country when the doctors advised him to rest.
He Was Strong, Determined, And Confident – Indian Doctor
Mohammad Rizwan was highly unlikely to take part in the semi-finals with his conditions being severe however, the Indian doctor had insisted that Rizwan’s desire and confidence played a key part in his recovery. The doctor Saheer Sainalabdeen admitted that through thorough analysis, the condition was diagnosed as to be Esophageal spasm.
“Rizwan had a strong desire to play for his nation in the crucial knockout match. He was strong, determined, and confident. I am astonished at the pace he had recovered,”
“His pain at the time of admission was 10/10. So, we subjected him for a detailed evaluation to diagnose the condition,”
“Esophageal spasms can feel like sudden and severe chest pain that lasts for a few minutes to hours,” Specialist Pulmonologist at Medeor Hospital, Saheer Sainalabdeen told.
It Would Have Normally Taken 5-7 Days To Recover Reckons Saheer
The Indian doctor Saheer stated that anybody would have taken at least 5-7 to recover while Rizwan regained fitness in just two days’ time. The doctor revealed the focus and belief of Rizwan, which helped in overcoming the condition quickly.
“Rizwan had a severe infection. Recovery and gaining fitness before the semifinal seemed unrealistic. It would have normally taken 5-7 days for anybody to recover,”
“He seemed very focused and believed in God. His only thoughts were about the semi-final,” Saheer added.
Mohammad Rizwan top-scored for Pakistan with a 52 ball 67 and took Pakistan to a good total of 176, which wasn’t enough at the end against Australia.
